About us

Fiona Pritchard studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Having worked as a freelance musician for several years, she began writing in earnest in 1995 when she approached Harper Collins with some song samples and was immediately commissioned to write and arrange 26 Action Songs for LETTERLAND the Programme One songs shortly after.

Kevin Pritchard was a scholar at the Royal Academy of Music and later the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

In 1988 he became Principal Horn with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. After 3 years he left to work as a freelance player based in the South working with The Philharmonia, the London Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic orchestras, The Royal Opera House, English National Opera and several West End musicals.

The LETTERLAND commissions enabled him to take his growing interest in music technology more seriously and in 1996  PMP: Premier Music Production was established.

This led to two long term associations; the first with the children’s audio company CYP where, working as one of their freelance production companies they have written and produced over a 30 albums and the education pack Fun with English.

Their products are available worldwide and retailers include Mothercare, Sainsbury’s, Early Learning Centre, Marks and  Spencer, BHS, W.H.Smith, Toys r us, Hamleys

and Harrods.

The second is with MONKEY MUSIC, the UK’s largest and most successful

pre school music classes founded by Angie Coates.

PMP write, arrange and produce all the songs and incidental music for the four curriculum programmes offered from birth to 4 years.

PMP license their music to several other music companies across the UK

and supply learning packs to various schools and nurseries.

More recently PMP has become Purple Marmalade Production and focusing not just on music and songs for children but writing and producing for a variety of other clients and location recording.

Musical extracts and songs have been used by the BBC and Channel 5 and their first library music album is being approved by BBC Worldwide, with a second in production.

Present commissions include Cocktail Lounge, a suite for Jazz horn and

Exposure, for horn choir, to be premiered at the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra horn festival in May 2010.
